HANLEY Swan lost 2-1 to Tenbury United in the Worcestershire FA Saturday Minor Cup final.

They lost narrowly to their Herefordshire FA League Premier Division opponents in an entertaining game at Claines Lane, Worcester.

The early exchanges were fairly even although but for some poor finishing Tenbury should have taken the lead.

Hanley had chances with Josh Fernie, James Holloway, Luke Duffett and Cathal Mcternan all going close.

The Worcestershire side took the lead just before half-time when a good passing move ended with Ash Bloore hitting the ball into the roof of the net.

However, minutes later Hanley lost the ball in midfield and Tenbury broke to score an equaliser.

Early in the second half Tenbury took the lead following a goalmouth scramble.

Both teams continued to play attacking football with further chances falling to Bloore, Blake Bishop and Kevin Moore.

At the other end good defending from Chris Aston, Dave Smith and Adam Webb kept Tenbury from going further ahead.

As the game wore on Hanley played the better football with Jackson McMullen and Duffett working hard in midfield.

For the last 20 minutes Hanley kept Tenbury under pressure and were unlucky not to equalise with Bloore and Bishop going close on several occasions and having other chances right up to the final whistle.

Although they did not win this was a good all-round performance by Hanley.
