PRINCE of Wales clinched the McDonald's Worcester and District Football League Sunday Division Two title after claiming the winner-takes-all clash.

They enjoyed a 4-1 win over an underperforming Clifton Rovers side.

Showing more fight and determination throughout Prince took an early lead through star striker Chris Cornes.

Needing just a draw to take the crown Clifton equalised through Mike Fellows.

But Luke Whittington restored Prince’s lead when he stabbed the ball home from close range.

Former Wolverhampton Wanderers and Worcester City player Cornes made the game safe when he curled a delightful shot into the top corner of the net.

Chris Read then netted a fourth for the icing on the cake as Prince celebrated victory in front of a large crowd at Shap Drive.

A run of six successive wins gave Malvern Rangers third place in the division.

They completed their programme with a 9-0 drubbing of Colwall St James.

Jonathan King netted four times and Henry Marriott added a brace with Curtis Williams, Lewis Doyle and Ben Jackson also on target.

Premier Division champions Callow End finished their season on a winning note with a 4-1 success over Colwall Village.

Jamie Roberts, Nathan Owen, Ben Griffiths and John Greenwood were all on the scoresheet for the triple trophy winners.

Runners-up Perrywood went down 5-1 at Hallow with Haydn Whitcombe cracking a hat-trick for the hosts.

The Bell @ Pensax Reserves beat Division Three runners-up Worcester Lynx 4-1 and Riley’s Sports drew 2-2 with Tenbury Athletic in Division Four to complete another league campaign.
