HEREFORD FC have appointed their new general manager.

James Watts comes on board having spent five years at Newport County as commercial manager.

More than 20 people applied for the job, with applicants shortlisted for interview.

Two candidates were then invited back for a second interview, with Watts chosen.

"The calibre of the applicants for this position was very impressive and even putting together a shortlist was extremely difficult," said Hereford chairman Ken Kinnersley on the club's official website.

"We are, however, delighted to have appointed James as the club’s general manager and are all looking forward to working with him.

"He knows the job will be a challenge and that we have high expectations of him, but we are all confident he is the right person for the job."
