MALVERN Town took the derby honours with a third straight victory in the West Midlands League Premier Division.

Les Jones' fifth-placed side beat Hereford-based Pegasus Juniors 3-0 at the HDanywhere Community Stadium.

Malvern went ahead in the eighth minute when a Louis Loader corner into the box to the back post was met by a Kirk Layton volley.

Ten minutes later, Adam Sauntson crossed into the area and Matt Fusco headed just wide.

Town made it two after 36 minutes when Kyonn Evans skilfully flicked the ball around the defender and then laid it off for Matt Turner to fire home.

In the 52nd minute, Harry Wickett was put through but the advancing keeper Stuart Turpin dived at his feet, causing him to shoot wide.

Evans crossed to Loader 15 minutes later and the midfielder pulled the ball back to Turner but he headed over.

A 76th-minute short corner saw Luke Molloy’s cross-shot find Sauntson at the back post to bundle in.

Despite Town’s domination, their failure to pull the trigger at the right time left the final score 3-0.

Malvern travel to fourth-from-bottom Stone Old Alleynians in the league on Saturday (3pm).

But firstly they visit Dudley Town in the Premier Division League Cup on Wednesday (7.45pm).

The under 21s are at home to Orleton Colts in the Herefordshire FA League Premier Division on Saturday (2.30pm).

They lost 3-2 at Wellington Rangers in their last league game with Max Bourne among the scorers.
