HANLEY Swan bounced back from their disappointing cup defeat at Welland Reserves to record a 6-4 win over Prestbury Rovers in Cheltenham Association League Division Two.

They put the pressure on from the start and took an early lead with Cathal McTernan drilling the ball home.

The game was then an end-to-end affair with both keepers called into action.

Midway through the half some good play by centre-half Dave Smith set up Adam Webb to score from close range.

Prestbury hit back towards the end of the period when Mark Amott handled in the area and they converted the penalty.

With minutes to go to half-time, Prestbury scored again to draw level.

The second half saw Hanley playing down the slope and within five minutes a good cross from Smith was headed in by Jack Humphreys.

Prestbury were in no mood to give up and they drew level again midway through the half.

Hanley pushed forward and two goals within two minutes from Tom Morris and James Moule restored their lead.

An unfortunate own goal by Amott gave Prestbury hope with the score at 5-4 but then Hanley's Ash Bloore scored direct from a corner to put the game beyond doubt.

Hanley visit Prestbury Rovers for a quick return fixture on Saturday (2pm).

Upton Town best RSG 3-2 in Division One and visit Andoversford on Saturday.
