HANLEY Swan lost 3-1 at fellow Cheltenham League Division Two high-fliers Fintan to end their run of three wins.

The visitors forced a few early corners as Kevin Moore hit a long shot just over and Blake Bishop caused problems.

But the hosts went ahead against the run of play.

Mark Thomas made good runs down the right and Bishop went close.

Moore also threatened after good work from Jack Humphries and Jackson McMullen but the keeper was quick off his line to snuff out attacks.

Third-placed Hanley levelled when a good break by Luke Duffett set up Moore to fire home.

But at the start of the second half Fintan regained their lead with a strike that gave the keeper no chance.

Humphries, McMullen and Moore all had good efforts but it wasn’t Hanley’s day.

The pitch became a quagmire and an attempted clearance by Adam Webb following a corner hit an opponent and went into the net.

Keeper Dan Rawlings made a double save to keep the score down while his counterpart shone throughout.

Hanley host Southside Star on Saturday (3pm).

Upton Town lost 2-1 at home to third-placed Dowty Dynamos in Division One with Matt Hindmarsh netting.

They go to leaders Cheltenham Civil Service on Saturday in a battle of the top two.
