12:00pm Monday 25th June 2012 in Football
MALVERN Rangers are stepping up preparations for their return to the West Midlands League.
They will start life at Dyson Perrins Academy before plans to switch to the proposed new all-weather surface at the Malvern school.
Rangers start pre-season training next Tuesday from 7pm at Victoria Park and all players are welcome before the regional league kick-off on Saturday, August 4.
Bryan Craven, Carl Pitt and Reg Reynolds will coach and manage the new-look first team, while Andrew Pugh heads the reserves in the Worcester and District League.
Rangers intend to run three Saturday teams and four on a Sunday plus three other sides from Malvern’s Cross Keys pub.
Pre-season friendlies include matches with Inkberrow, Welland, Wellington, Broadway United, Presteigne St Andrews, Rhayader Town and Hinton.
They will run a hospitality day to the races in October and also stage a supporters coach to Wembley Stadium to watch England play Ukraine in September.
