HANLEY Swan's Katy Lewin insists she will never forget her outing at the All England Club.

She starred in front of ex-British number one Tim Henman in the HSBC Road to Wimbledon National 14 and Under Challenge finals.

The Hanley Castle High School pupil, 14, booked her spot after competing in the county finals but was knocked out in the first round of the girls' consolation draw.

However, Lewin said: “Playing at Wimbledon was a great experience and I learned to like the grass courts because they produce faster tennis and the ball bounces lower.

“I would love to return to Wimbledon one day to play on Centre Court and maybe even win the tournament.”

Lewin, who attends Manor Park Tennis Club, met Henman during the day.

The HSBC Road to Wimbledon National 14 and Under Challenge is the United Kingdom’s largest national junior grass court tournament and forms part of HSBC’s investment in the stars of the future.
