A MATHON teenager enjoyed her showjumping highlight so far with fourth place at a major competition.

The Chase School pupil Lily Dean, 13, tackled the national finals in The Alexanders Horseboxes British Showjumping Scope Festival in Stafford.

The competition involved qualifiers from all over England and Dean made the Pony Adventurer class at Moores Farm, Corse Lawn, in July.

In Stafford, she came 12th in the preliminary round to reach the main ring finals.

The final started at 1.15 metres before a jump-off of up to 1.25m in height.

Dean and her 13-year-old gelding Mr Seamus jumped double clear to secure fourth place.

The duo have already qualified for the newcomer second rounds next year and hope to make the Horse of the Year Show.
