MALVERN Joggers were out in force at the first Worcester City 10-kilometre race organised by Events of The North.

Steve Cram was one of the main event organisers and Paula Radcliffe made her return to competitive racing, finishing third place in 35 minutes 48 seconds.

Worcester Athletic Club’s Jenny Nesbitt finished first in the women’s contest.

Joggers were led home by Sam Burnage in 39.35 followed by Ben Toon, who bagged a 10k personal best of 42.05.

Other times saw Peter Wilson clock 46.38, Paul Webb 48.32, Mark Gingell 47.53, Andrew Gallagher 48.51, Linda Hiles 49.23, Deborah Parker 51.00, Lucy Gallagher 52.17, Jude Dendy 1.02.37, Anna Cross 1.04.25 and Annie Robson 1.09.55.

Meanwhile, two female Joggers put in fine performances at two different half-marathons.

Jayne Ackroyd was third woman overall at Eton Man Day of Endurance half-marathon in Windsor in 1.42.53.

Megan Judge continued her good form at Hereford half-marathon and was 14th overall, also scooping a prize for third woman overall in 1.36.01.

Malvern’s Claire Gilbert won the 10km contest in 45.17 and was 21st overall.

Joggers also tackled the Waseley Wobbler 8.5-mile multi-terrain race organised by Bromsgrove and Redditch Athletic Club.

Daniel Badger ran 1.09.04, Trevor Matty 1.10.53, John Bryan 1.15.36, Julie Caseley 1.17.54, Glyn Davies 1.22.40, Chris Jolley 1.27.19, Mike Anstey 1.28.58, Lynda Broadway 1.31.54 and Emma McCance 1.35.43.
