MALVERN cycling club VC Sevale held their annual awards evening at Colwall Ale House.

Members, family and friends reflected on a busy 2014 season of racing.

The women’s time trial series was won by Jane Sewell, while Jez Pile continued his dominance in the men’s competition, taking both the senior and overall crowns.

Pile received the Burford Cup for time trial on a standard road bike.

He also bagged two bronze medals for the individual pursuit and time trial from the Masters Track Championship at Newport Velodrome.

The winner of the hotly-contested road-man time trial series was Mike Collins after he just edged out Mick Peakman, who claimed the Ardennes Cup for non-competitive rides.

Mike Amery was rewarded for another excellent season, taking the road race trophy, fixed wheel trophy, veteran time trial series, overall time trial runner-up and hill climb champion.

Along with veterans time trial series runner-up William Davies, Amery also received a silver medal for the team pursuit at the League of Veteran Racing Cyclists Track Championships.

The winner of the Clubman Trophy for services to VC Sevale went to Steve Price for running Sunday and Monday rides.

Price also made a valuable contribution to the successful Church Street hill climb, which was run on the same day the Tour of Britain rode through Malvern.
