BROADHEATH Belters’ Paperstation Malvern League Division One title hopes were damaged by a 7-3 defeat to YMCA Pterodactyls.

Svilen Andreev won three matches, including over Michael Siket, and was supported by Dave White (2) and Wayne Chopping.

Siket (2) and Brett Brining replied for Belters.

CSSC Ramblers kept up their challenge with a 6-4 win over Manor Park Travellers despite a maximum from Craig Preece and Toby Wren’s single success.

Two triumphs from both Chris Hewitt and Alan Salisbury and Graham Thompson’s single, plus a doubles success, earned Ramblers’ win.

In the key relegation clash, Ledbury Rovers drew 5-5 with Manor Park Pumas.

Ady Marshall was in fine form for Rovers with three wins supported by Bryan Farr and James Dance.

Dave Hallam (2), Geoff Woodward and Jon Dyke replied with the latter pair also winning the key doubles.

Ledbury Collection defeated Ledbury Lions 7-3 thanks to maximums from Patryk Kovacz and Nigel Foreshew, who also claimed the doubles.

Steve Meredith, Mike Morgan and Brian Kitchener replied with singles for Lions, who will be looking over their shoulders nervously in the final round of matches.

Division Two title winners Crackpots ‘E’ maintained their 100 per cent record with a 7-3 victory over Wanderers through Matt Hodges (3), Dave Steen (2) and Anthea Knight.

Wanderers replied with two wins for Stan Mason and one for Charlie Burford.

YMCA Vulcans defeated CSSC Nomads 8-2 with maximums from John Cawthra and Manuel Peral, who also paired up to take the doubles, and one for Beryl Shammon.

Nomads replied through Dave Hayes and Adrian Fray.

Tornados defeated Crackpots ‘D’ 7-3 with a maximum from Ben Meredith and two wins each for Ethan Webb and Dominic Weston.

James Palmer and Bob Rhodes replied for Crackpots. Bromyard Hopefuls maintained their Division Three title challenge with an 8-2 win over Poolbrook Juniors with maximums from Ed Tinton and Brian Kitchener supported by David Gwilt (2). James Glazzard replied with one for Juniors and combined with father Steve to take the doubles.

Crackpots ‘B’ earned a rare victory 6-4 against Poolbrook Panthers thanks to wins for Ted Cates (3), Alan Forsdike (2) and Alan Eldridge.

Ewan Gear (2) and Judith Tyson replied for Panthers.

X Police kept up the pressure on Bromyard with 6-4 wins over Poolbrook Rangers and Devils.

Steve Mulka’s maximum against Pumas, including a 16-14 final-set victory over Devils’ Paul Lythgoe, could prove crucial as Hopefuls await in their final fixture.

Rob Weston and Barry Barwick performed well for Rangers with two wins each but could not prevent Mulka earning another maximum.

Devils’ victories came from Lythgoe (2), Pete Harding and Liz Hallam.

Abbeydowne drew 5-5 with Manor Park Crackpots as Neils Erikksson and Chris Burrows took two wins each and Len Hitchman one.

Stephen Lindner (3), Ed Palmer and a doubles victory earned a share of the points for Crackpots.
