MALVERN Victoria are starting a weekly club night every Friday from today.
It will be an informal occasion at their Victoria Park clubhouse with the opportunity to have a game or a chat and a light supper.
Prospective members are welcome.
The club’s ladies began their campaign with a three-point defeat at Droitwich in an enjoyable contest.
Victoria Marks have opened their season in the Les Thomas League with two decisive victories and boast maximum points.
Meanwhile, Manor Park enjoyed a good response to their play bowls day.
But the men exited the Top Club competition in the second round after a 4-1 defeat to Worcester, despite being close to victory with four ends left.
The ladies lost at home to Inkberrow by five shots 64-59 after winning on two rinks.
L Mills, S Childs-Hunaban and P Williams won 16-9 and S Berrow, C Kenward and J Wintermute triumphed 16-15.
But S Hubbard, R Rowell and D Dyson were edged out 19-18, while D Lloyd-Jones, J Baker and M McGowan fell heavily 21-9.
