MALVERN kayaker Emily Lewis suffered embarrassment when racing for Great Britain at the Baku 2015 European Games in Azerbaijan.
Worcester Canoe Club’s Lewis, 22, and Team GB colleague Hayleigh Mason, took on the K2 200 metres but fell out of the boat just before the line in heat two, to dash their hopes of a semi-final place.
Worcestershire’s Team GB debutant Chris Calvert qualified for the C1 200m ‘B’ final with a sixth-place finish and managed eighth.
There was also a good display from fellow Fladbury Paddle Club member James Styan in the C1 1,000m as he made the semi-finals and finished seventh.
The canoe sprint regatta was held in Mingachevir.
