TERRY Jenkins was knocked out of the International Darts Open quarter-finals in Germany by eventual winner Michael Smith.
The Ledbury thrower was edged out 6-5 with Smith going on to seal the second Professional Darts Corporation European Tour title of his career with a 6-3 success over Benito van de Pas in Riesa.
World number one Michael van Gerwen's 100 per cent record on the tour this year ended when he lost 6-4 to fellow Dutchman van de Pas in the third round.
Smith, nicknamed Bully Boy, won through in a deciding leg against The Bull in the opening game of the day with a fifth-leg 129 checkout the highlight.
Jenkins, 51, had earlier beaten Austrian player Rowby-John Rodriguez 6-2 and Jamie Lewis 6-4 to progress to the last eight after a first-round bye.
The next tour event will be the European Darts Open in Dusseldorf, Germany, from Friday, July 10, until Sunday, July 12.
