LEDBURY darts ace Terry Jenkins competes at the 2015 BetVictor World Matchplay in Blackpool later this month.

Jenkins has been drawn to face ProTour order of merit qualifier Mensur Suljovic in the first round a week on Sunday.

The Bull is 14th in the Professional Darts Corporation order of merit after a 6-4 first-round defeat to Max Hopp in the final Players’ Championship of the season in Wigan.

Jenkins, 51, is among 32 players competing for the title in the PDC’s second oldest major tournament at the Winter Gardens.

The top 16 from the PDC order of merit qualified by right and are seeded for the first round against 16 ProTour order of merit qualifiers.

Michael van Gerwen is top seed and aims to go one better this year after losing out in the final to Phil Taylor in 2014.

Taylor is seeded second as he bids to win an eighth successive Matchplay crown.

At Wigan’s Robin Park Tennis Centre, Jenkins also lost his opening match on the first day, 6-5 to Jay Foreman, with James Wade sealing his second Players’ Championship title of 2015 as he beat Kim Huybrechts 6-5.

Jelle Klaasen beat Ian White 6-2 in the final on the second day.
