BLUSTERY conditions did not put off the 19 riders in VC Sevale’s 10-mile time trial on the challenging Chance Lane course in Malvern.
Club champion Jez Pile led the field home in 23 minutes one second, and Worcester St John’s rider Nathan Preece was second just four seconds later.
Sevale’s Mike Amery completed the course in 24.20 to complete the podium.
Other notable rides included the tandem team of Sean and Kay O’Toole in 27.08, and William and Ben Davies’ two-up effort for 24.35.
R Clews clocked 24.58, L Wilson 25.06, J Bouchet 25.31, M Webb 26.29 and M Hedges 27.06.
Sevale’s next events are the Ankerdine hill climb on Tuesday and the Hanley Swan 5.5-mile time trial on Thursday.
Both events sign on from 6pm, with first riders off at 6.30pm.
