MALVERN kayaker Emily Lewis was a double winner at the Under 23s National Championships in Nottingham.
The 23-year-old from Worcester Canoe Club won the 200-metre and 500m singles K1 events at the National Watersports Centre.
As a result, Lewis has been selected to race at the Under 23s European and World Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, and Minsk, Belarus, respectively later in July.
The former St Mary’s Worcester Girls’ School pupil will be hoping to make the A final in both and maybe then target a medal.
Lewis came a close fourth last year in the K1 200m at the world championships.
She said: “That was disappointing but gave me extra drive and motivation in training this year.”
