RIPPLE Short Mat Bowls Club held their inaugural singles tournament at the village's parish hall.
Following four rounds of hard-fought competition Sandra Teale beat Paul Dent in the final to become singles champion and win the Saxon's Lode Plate.
The trophy was presented by club chairman Monica Carter.
The club now participate in both the winter and summer leagues but still focus on the social, fun and fitness benefits.
