MALVERN Jogger Jess Depper was delighted to finish the Milton Keynes Marathon with a lap of one of the city’s landmarks.

After going through beautiful parks, lakes, picturesque villages and the canal towpath, Depper went around stadiumMK, home of Milton Keynes Dons, and crossed the line in five hours, two minutes and 20 seconds.

Jill Eberie who recently graduated from Malvern Joggers’ couch to 5k group has now moved onto 10k’s as she competed in the Simplyhealth Great Birmingham 10k to raise funds for The Aplastic Anaemia Fund.

She also got the opportunity to do a lap of a top sporting venue as she visited Edgbaston Cricket Ground before tackling the fast and flat section to the finish line outside Millennium Point.

Eberie said: “I found it hard. It was quite hot and hadn’t really run in three weeks as I have hurt my foot. I loved it though.

“I couldn’t run for more than a minute when I started Joggers in January, so I am very happy.”

Gemma Leah was back for round three of the DirtRun 5-Star Series at the Notgrove Estate in the heart of the Cotswolds.

The 10km off-road senior route took runners across the rolling fields and tracks on the spectacular estate which is a 1,500-acre family run working farm. She finished in 59.08 Meanwhile, Steve Roode joined a team of eight Pershore Plums to tackle the Lightning Run - a 12-hour relay in Catton Park, Staffordshire.
