VC SEVALE rider Jez Pile continued his dominance as he claimed a comfortable victory on the Hanley Swan course.

Pile, who was among 20 riders, completed the 5.5 mile time trial in a time of 11 minutes 39 seconds, 11 seconds ahead of Worcester St Johns’ Simon Garret.

The next four places were separated by a mere seven seconds with Oli Morgan stopping the clock in 12.10, Graham Browning 12.12, Simon Wix 12.16 and Simon Adcock 12.17.

VC Sevale’s riders William Davies and Mike Amery maintained their close battle for points. Davies came out on top by one second, finishing in 12.30.

With the season only five races in and the whole summer remaining, the closeness of the times and the fact that a couple of seconds can drop a rider down the points means that competition is sure to be go all the way to September.

Sevale’s next race takes place on Thursday, May 18 on the Malvern Hilly course. Sign on is next to Welland Village Hall from 6.30pm with first rider off at 7pm.
