MALVERN Anglers held their Fitzwater Trophy match at Hartleton pool in the last match before the river season opened.
The method of fishing was restricted to old-fashioned rod, line and float only.
The weather in the morning started bright and clear but more cloud and some heavy showers developed on a strengthening wind during the match.
Although there are plenty of roach and bream at the venue they proved somewhat reluctant to feed as bites were fewer than expected for most anglers.
But all were able to catch at least a few fish.
Leading the way once again was the in-form Richard Webster who tempted a few of the bigger bream on red maggots with other smaller fish to finish with a winning weight of 11lb 1oz 0dr.
Leading the rest Lee Harman also included a couple of bream to come second with 7-7 while there was a close finish for third between Luke Richards and Steve Warren from adjacent pegs with 6-9 and 6-8 respectively.
Nigel Bayliss was fifth with 6-0.
