THE FOURTH round of the Senior Stableford League at Bransford Golf Club was marked by a hole-in-one for Brian Taylor.

The 23 handicapper achieved his first ever ace on the par three 15th when he used a five iron.

Division One: Chaz Ivill 38, Mark Heason and Trevor Atkinson 36; Division Two: Brian Taylor 41, Bob Mathews and Richard Holding 37; Division Three: Roger Steade 33, Cynthia Holmes 33 and Allen Rowberry 31.

The seniors also continued their impressive home form in the section’s summer programme of club matches with a comfortable 4 ½ - 1 ½ win over Cleobury Mortimer.

They have now won six of their seven matches at Bransford with one draw.

Winners: Alan Wallcroft (22) and Harry Godwin (19) 4&3, Rob Blake (15) and John Phillips (21) 3&2, Roy Williams (20) and Andrew Jarvis (24) 3&1.

Halved: Trevor Atkinson (14) and Roger Clark (23), Dave Miller (17) and Pete Harrison (25), Mike Davidge (18) and Charlie Hawkridge (24).

The Prince Henry’s Amateur Golf Society (PHAGS) and the Pheasant Inn Golf Society (PIGS) contested the Cancer Research Rose Bowl.

A total of six teams of two played in a four-ball better ball competition, with the PHAGS winning 5-1.

Results (PHAGS names first): Dave Miller and Alan won 3&2 against Lee Dyment and Nick Kimberlee, Ros Fenney and Nick Hanby won 7&6 against Phil Spencer and John Godden, Matt Lloyd and Bernard Roberts lost 3&2 against Jeff Carlisle and Geoff Aston, James Nightingale and Andy Ford won 2&1 against Pete Calvesbert and David Sharp, Rosie Loh and Geth Jenkins won 2&1 against John Phillips and Graham Holmes, and Tom Pilling and Scott Danby won 5&3 against Gerry McCurry and Peter Taylor.
