A BRANSFORD trio decimated the field to win the Worcestershire and Herefordshire County Ladies’ three-ball alliance on their home course.

Pauline Wetton, Jenny Bennett and Coral Handley finished up with 86 points, nine clear of a group from Moseley.

Fifth place went to Bransford’s June Atkinson, Abi Nixon and Jane Smallwood on count-back having made 71. A total of 93 players representing 17 clubs took part in the event.

Mike Davidge (16) won the Cyril Lee Trophy with 41 points, edging out June Atkinson (19) on 39, while Rob Wetton (23), Ferey Ghani (14), David Wild (13) and Alan Cockill (19) finished on 38.

Not far behind were Dave Miller (17) on 37, and Brian Taylor (23), Keith Edgell (19), John Phillips (20) on 36.

But the August stableford was won by Alan Ford (11) in Division One with a first class return of 42 points.

He was six ahead of Lee Dyment (19) and Rob Blake (16) was the only other golfer who totalled 36. Other leading players were Keith Edgell (19), Trevor Atkinson (13) and Davidge all on 35.

John Phillips (19) led the way in Division Two, followed by Brian Lawrence (23) 38, Roy Mayo (24) 37, Alan Wallcroft (22) 36. Harry Godwin (20), Rob Wetton (23) and Barry Benge (20) ended on 35.

Pete Harrison (24) won Division Three on 40 points followed by Dick Bettsworth (27) and Martin Linley (26) both with 37. Malcolm Bradley (28), Gerry McCurry (28), Brian Corfield (25) all finished on 34.

A nett score of 63 - 75-12=63 saw Ian Pritchard win the Pro’s Chalice. Runner-up was Steve Bourne 81-15=66, followed by N Park 81-15=66, Ollie Walker 77-1=66 and on nett 68 came Steve MrVic, Alan Rimell and Steve Bolton.
