WILL Burgess is teeing up for the UK final of the largest amateur golf tournament in the world.

The Leigh Sinton golfer secured his place at the Audi quattro Cup which will take place at the Bowood Hotel & Golf Resort in Calne, Wiltshire on Thursday, September 7, with his playing partner Nick Adams.

Together, they swung to success at one of the major regional rounds, held at The Belfry.

The pair, who will be representing Worcester Audi, now hope to pass the stern test set by Bowood’s unforgiving bunkers and undulating greens to claim another victory.

Burgess said: “I am very much looking forward to the big UK final and will be working on my short game to ensure my chipping, putting and bunker play are all sharp.

“Learning the course in time will be the greatest challenge so I’ll be practising hard the day before.”

Burgess’ journey to the prestigious final marks him out as one of the elite in amateur golf.

He started out as one of over 2,000 UK contestants before being whittled down to 36 finalists.

If successful, Burgess and Adams will receive the title and a ticket to the ultimate crowning affair of the Audi quattro Cup at Quivira Golf Club in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in early December.
