STEVE Roode got his reward for running two races in a day as he collected a silver medal in the under 60 male category at the Credenhill Canter.

The Malvern Joggers ace finished the 6.3-mile race in 54 minutes 35 seconds after completing the Pershore 10k in 49.27 earlier in the day.

Viv Tolley also tackled both races as she followed up a time of 1.01.44 in Pershore with 1.16.54 in Credenhill.

Matt Scriven was second overall in Credenhill, securing top spot in the under 50 male category in 45.15 while Ian Walywn (57.59) was first in under 70 male and Julie Caseley (1.00.51) picked up silver in the under 60 female. Lorraine Bunn completed the race in 1.16.59.

There was also success for Malvern Joggers in the morning with Nic Dauncey (40.09) finishing 10th in the event hosted by Pershore Plum Plodders. Kareen Mann (50.19) and Gerry Taggart (1.00.34) were first in the FV55 and MV75+ respectively.

A busy bank holiday weekend also saw Joggers compete in the Severn Bridge Half Marathon with Keith Ruff finishing in 1.50.30 and Andrew Brown 1.59.56. Graham Timmins did the 10k in 1.10.48.

There were a number of milestones reached at Worcester Parkrun as Roode took part in his 200th race, Jane Spicer completed her 100th and Bert Lacey did his 50th.

Elsewhere Megan Judge, who is on her way back from injury, was in Bristol doing the 401 Festival of Running. Day one saw her do the parkrun in 26.27, 500m in two minutes, one mile in 7.37 and a 10k in 52.38.

The following day she did a 5k in 26.19, 500m in two minutes, one mile in 8.33 and half marathon in 2.19.38.

She said: β€œIn total I did just over 28 miles in one weekend. For someone who has been out for two-and-a-half months with no running I am really happy.”

Mike Anstey and Lynda Broadway overcame the Flying Monk Malmesbury 10k in scorching heat in 58.51 and 63.03 respectively.
