CSSC Ramblers began their new Malvern Table Tennis League Division One season in fine style with an 8-2 victory over Poolbrook Patriots.

A maximum from Chris Hewitt was supported by Graham Thompson and Mark Clinton with two apiece while Dominic Weston replied with two for Patriots.

Manor Park Wanderers continued their good start with a 7-3 win against Pumas thanks to maximums from Matt Hodges and Simon Claxton.

Dave Hallam, Geoff Woodward and Jon Dyke replied with single wins for Pumas.

Manor Park Travellers defeated Ledbury Lions 8-2 thanks to Toby Wren with a maximum supported by Martin Snee and Geoff Burford with two each.

Mike Keeley enjoyed two wins for Lions in reply.

Ledbury Rovers defeated Manor Park Express 7-3 with Alex Aston, Jack Castle and James Dance all winning two each while Joe Higgs was unbeaten for their opponents.

In Division Two, Poolbrook Dynamos A again showed their promotion intentions with a 9-1 win against Rangers with John Phillips, Phil Smethurst and Laurence Dodd all winning three.

Crackpots E and Scuttling Gang shared a 5-5 draw with Colin Dolding winning three and the doubles with Anthea Knight.

Dave Steen added one for Crackpots with Gang responding through two wins each for Ken Hipwell and Pete Roberts supported by Richard Cullis with one.

Vulcans defeated Poolbrook Rangers 8-2 thanks to a maximum from Richard Bennett supported by Ray Rennison and Paul Egerton with two each.

Dave Brown replied with two for Rangers.

Poolbrook Phoenix 1st defeated Nomads 6-4 thanks to two each from Steve Mulka and Mark Shouler and one from James Mulka.

Dave Hayes was unbeaten for Nomads with Adrian Fray also contributing one.

In Division Three, Abbeydowne defeated Bromyard Eagles 9-1 thanks to maximums from Niells Eriksson and John Redmons supported by Ben Redmond with two while David Gwilt replied.

Phoenix seconds defeated Ghetto Superstars 6-4 thanks to two wins each for Malcolm Daley and Barry Barwick supported by Dominic Elrington with one.

Poolbrook Juniors defeated Malvern U3A 6-4 thanks to three wins for Reece Taylor Locke and two for Alan Goodman.

Neil Angell with two and Michael Lewant and Dina Murdie with one each replied for U3A.

League newcomers Bat Outta Hell were defeated 8-2 by Wombats as Paul Lythgoe and Pete Harding won two and Pete Nash one.

Brian Genever and Mark Jefferies with two each replied.

Poolbrook Panthers continued their strong start with a 7-3 win against Manor Park Crackpots thanks to a maximum from Charlie Burford supported by Nick Carroll with two and Jude Tyson with one.

Stephen Lindner with two and Tim Dolding replied for Crackpots.
