MANOR Park’s 12 and under junior team won the Herefordshire and Worcestershire LTA Junior Davis Cup event at Malvern and County Indoor Tennis (MACIT).
Sam Laidler, Sam Cassidy and Bethany Pye were undefeated, beating Hereford Whitecross 3-0, Bromsgrove 2-1 and Redditch 3-0.
The semi-final against Bromsgrove was close with the deciding number one singles match seeing Laidler edge Harley Jones 10-7 in a third-set tie-break.
Seven teams took part in the second year of the event with coaches sitting on court as in the senior Davis Cup.
The three-player teams had two singles and a doubles in each rubber using the fast four format of scoring.
Bromsgrove, Droitwich, Pershore, Stourport, Hereford Whitecross and last year’s winners Redditch competed.
There was a good start to 2018 with the coaching programme for all ages resuming at Manor Park.
