WELLAND extended their unbeaten run to 10 matches with a comfortable 2-0 win over Gala Wilton thirds in Cheltenham League Division Five.
The first-half saw both teams struggle to create scoring opportunities with Mark Holbrow, Mark Taylor and James Lush going close for the fifth-placed hosts.
Gala brought saves from keeper Niall Hacking, who was in sparkling form.
Welland upped the pressure in the second period and the keeper did well to tip over a fine Taylor free-kick but was then unable to prevent Ben Pearson tapping in Lush’s corner.
Lush put Pearson through and he beat the keeper at the near post to complete the scoring.
