HISTORY was made in the Malvern Table Tennis League when three sisters competed together for the first time in its 70-year existence.

Zoe, 20, Tash, 17, and Thea Snee, 12, continued a family tradition in the competition.

Grandfather Tim played for nearly 30 years until his death in 2014 and dad Martin turns out for Manor Park Travellers in Division One.

The girls represented Poolbrook Juniors in Division Three in a 6-4 loss to Worcester’s Ghetto Superstars.

Zoe and Tash beat both Phil and Nathan Newport but could not overcome Malcolm Box who earned the win for Superstars by claiming his three singles.

He also combined with Nathan Newport to take the deciding doubles against Zoe and Tash in straight sets.

The Snee sisters highlight a recent increase in the league with nine of the 154 players registered to teams being female.

Anyone can come along to coaching sessions for a nominal fee at Dyson Perrins Academy, Malvern, on Sunday evenings.
