JUST three matches survived the wet weather in the McDonald’s Worcester and District Football League with waterlogged pitches causing the remainder to be postponed.

The focus of attention was at the top of Division Four where six teams are in contention for promotion.

Current leaders Spa Rovers entertained Sebright Arms and led 2-0 at half-time.

They seemed well on the way to victory after surging 4-1 ahead but a magnificent fightback from Sebright saw the visitors clinch a famous 5-4 triumph.

Shane Shallcross was the Sebright hero, hitting a hat-trick, including a match-winning penalty five minutes from time.

Glenn Sitch and Jason Payne also found the target for Sebright with Rovers' goals coming from Jordan Fox (2), Connor Grant and Tom Gurney.

Grosvenor Sports are in second place, four points behind Spa with two games in hand after a 7-3 demolition of Eaton Reserves.

Grosvenor found themselves 2-0 down before a brace from Josh Farnsworth brought the scores level.

Eaton had no answer to Grosvenor’s attacking flair and they raced into a 6-2 lead with further strikes from Daniel Pitt, Craig English, Scott Hines and Dan Mimnagh.

Man of the match Farnsworth then rounded the goalkeeper to complete his hat-trick before Eaton grabbed a further consolation goal five minutes from time.

The Bernard Finnegan Cup quarter-final clash between Droitwich Spa Eagles Reserves and Drakes Broughton Rangers Reserves saw the visitors take an early lead through a Bill Hemming volley.

Eagles equalised instantly with a left-footed effort from Glenn Gains.

Hemming restored Rangers' lead before Andy Harvey brought Eagles level again.

After that it was all Rangers who finally won 5-2, Hemming netting four times with Rhys Turberfield also on the scoresheet.
