Title aim for Town
11:00am Friday 4th January 2013 in Rugby
LEDBURY Town hope 2013 is the year they win promotion from West Midlands Football League Division Two.
The New Street side, who switched from the Herefordshire League last season, begin January second in the table and five points behind leaders Newport Town.
They kick off the new year at home to Wrens Nest tomorrow (2pm) and a victory would be their 10th of the campaign.
Chris Powell’s outfit are keen to return to action following a barren December that saw them play just one game, an exciting 4-4 draw against Ettingshall Park Farm.
Meanwhile, Ledbury Rugby Club’s objective in 2013 will be to avoid relegation from Midlands Three West (South).
The second-from-bottom Ross Road team host mid-table Cheltenham North tomorrow (2.15- pm).
Their last match against Pinley was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, meaning Ledbury have not played since losing 32-22 to third-placed Pershore on December 15.
Prior to that, they won 48-17 at basement boys Redditch.
