BRADFORD Bulls Rugby League player Jamie Foster is being linked with a cross-code switch to Worcester Warriors.

The 24-year-old is a goal-kicking winger who came through the ranks at St Helens, his home-town club, before joining Bradford ahead of the 2013 campaign.

After two seasons at Bradford, Foster has not been offered a new deal by the Bulls, who suffered relegation from the Super League.

Warriors would not comment on the speculation but Foster’s goal-kicking conversion rate is high and that’s his appeal to rugby union clubs.

Foster said: “Rugby union is a lot about kicking and that’s something that fits the bill for me.

“It’s something I’ve been doing for a very long time and there is going to be even more pressure on me doing it next year because I’ll be in the spotlight doing it at that level.

“But I’m ready for it and I’m looking forward to it, so hopefully it all works out.”

Meanwhile, Warriors prop Ryan Bower is relishing the prospect of facing his former Nottingham team-mates in Saturday’s Greene King IPA Championship clash at Sixways.

Bower joined Warriors in the summer from Leicester Tigers having been dual registered with Nottingham. He made more than 50 first-team appearances for Nottingham.

“I had a fair few matches for Nottingham and I hope I get selected for the game against them,” said Bower, who notched his maiden Warriors try in last Saturday’s 32-16 win at Doncaster Knights.

“It’s a full-time set-up at Nottingham and they have some excellent coaches.

“They are very powerful in the pack so it will be a good challenge.”
