MALVERN Rugby Club can boast a happier camp after consecutive victories following two relegations in a row.
The Spring Lane side are second in Midlands Two West (South) after Saturday’s 44-31 thriller against Old Yardleians.
Their success followed an opening 20-14 triumph at Old Leamingtonians and Malvern visit Coventry side Pinley tomorrow (3pm) in buoyant mood.
Director of rugby Dave Irish was delighted with his team’s display against Old Yardleians.
He said: “The lads just stuck to the game-plan and our superior fitness and some great movement of the ball paid off in the end. There were some fine individual performances but it was cohesive teamwork which ensured the win for Malvern.
“The atmosphere around the club is amazing and, with the high turn-outs at training still continuing to be impressive, I expect plenty of competition for places across all three sides.”
