POWERFUL back-rower Marco Mama has joined Worcester Warriors — and former South African centre Wynand Olivier is also rumoured to be on the way to Sixways.

But scrum-half Jean-Baptiste Bruzulier, who was outstanding in Warriors’ Championship play-off final against Bristol, has joined Clermont Auvergne on loan with a view to a permanent deal.

Mama, 24, has arrived on loan from Bristol and will return to the Championship club in March, ahead of their expected play-off push.

Speculation suggests 32-year-old Olivier, capped 38 times by South Africa, has agreed a two-year deal with Warriors and is applying for a visa. But Warriors declined to comment on the rumour.

Olivier left Montpellier at the end of last season, having previously played for the Blue Bulls in South Africa.

He would follow Samoa prop Na’ama Leleimalefaga who arrived from Montpellier this summer.

Mama, who impressed in all four of Bristol’s fixtures against Warriors last term, is Dean Ryan’s 10th new signing ahead of the Aviva Premiership campaign.

He scored eight tries in 23 appearances last season and has been one of Bristol’s most impressive players for the past four seasons.

The flanker also scored a try at Sixways during a manof- the-match performance for the Championship XV side who beat Canada last season.

When Mama signed a new deal with Bristol a year ago, both parties agreed on a clause allowing him to go on loan to a Premiership side should the Ashton Gate club fail to win promotion at the end of the 2014-15 season.

His loan spell is believed to end on February 28, 2016, meaning he will be available for Bristol’s final five Championship matches and the play-off campaign.

Mama said: “It’s fantastic to be a part of such a great club and I am really happy to be at Worcester.

“The fact it’s Premiership rugby is a big attraction. I have sat down with Dean Ryan and I have spoken to a couple of coaches and they really sold me the Worcester philosophy.

“I have spoken to some of the players and it’s a club which is definitely heading in the right direction.”

Warriors director of rugby Ryan added: “Marco is a hungry young player. His versatility and work-rate across the back row will add to the competitive nature of our squad.”
