MALVERN Rugby Club chairman Peter Woods has called on his side to impose themselves as they face a “winnable” game at Hinckley in National Three Midlands tomorrow (ko 2.15pm).
The Spring Lane side return to action after a free weekend following a 42-25 win over Broadstreet in their last league clash two weeks ago.
Now they go to Leicestershire tomorrow to face a side who they are just one point and two places behind in the table.
Scrum-half Jamie Southall replaces Tom Longley who is rested after suffering an ankle knock last weekend.
After tomorrow’s clash, Malvern host 10th-placed Hereford on December 10 and then travel to Mansfield, who are fifth, seven days later.
Woods said: “It’s a matter of imposing ourselves early on tomorrow. We have to grasp control of the game from the word go.
“One of the major problems we have had this season is that we have been slow to start games.
“This is the sort of game that we need to look to get something out of. It’s winnable and we will be looking to score a few tries. “We go to Hinckley with a settled side which is something we’ve been looking to have for most of the season.
“There has always been a friendly rivalry between us and Hinckley and they have always been well-contested games but they have probably just shaded it over the years with the games won.
“We have a tough run of games before Christmas, as Hereford have picked up their form and Mansfield is always a difficult game.”
n Places are still available for supporters to travel on the team bus to Hinckley tomorrow. It will leave Spring Lane at 10.30am.
