Tom Hiddleston plays Thor's arch enemy Loki in Avengers Assemble
Tom Hiddleston has confirmed he is flying solo against The Avengers in the highly anticipated comic book adventure Avengers Assemble.
The War Horse star - who plays Thor's arch enemy Loki - revealed there would be no villains assembling to attack the world against the team of superheroes in the new film, so he is glad he has immortal powers on his side.
Tom said: "I am the primary villain in it so it isn't going to be villains assemble.
"My good fortune is to play a character who is superhuman, he's a god, so many of those superheroes, superheroes though they may be, they're all men. Iron Man is a man, Captain America is a man, so I have the advantage there.
"So it's one villain against the Avengers Assemble."
The 31-year-old actor also revealed he was pleased to have finally enjoyed a well-deserved holiday after filming Shakespeare's Henry IV Parts I and II and Henry V for three BBC films, back-to-back at the beginning of the year.
He said: "I was doing three films of Shakespeare's Henry plays and we made three films in 19 weeks which is quite a lot of work especially when it's Shakespeare.
"So I was spending all my days in chainmail on a horse in the snow, so once that finished I was like 'I'm going to the beach!'"
