COMO HOUSE

Como House is a classic example of traditional Malvern stone and Limestone construction with ornate bargeboards. It retains many of the original features, including the original gothic stone porch and front door, and attractive period staircase making for great character.

The history of Como House goes back to 1851 when it was the first house to be built on Como Road. The owners ran a private school in the house until 1882. It then became an independent prep school called Hillstone which operated for a further 110 years. During this time it expanded into three neighbouring large houses, and eventually new classroom and workshop blocks, tennis court, swimming pool, and even its own chapal.
