Crime-scene do not cross, there is a macabre fascination when it comes to who dunnit...

Multi million selling author Peter James' Not Dead Enough opened in Bristol on Monday evening following the huge sellout success of The Perfect Murder and Dead Simple.

The action takes place between Brighton and Hove police station and the mortuary in April 2016.

Detective Superintendent Roy Grace (Shane Ritchie) is not only dealing with the mysterious loss of his wife ten years ago, he is also on the case of several vicious and chilling murders that involve the use of gas masks, sexual assult and the killers calling card 'because he loves you'.

Ritchie the former Eastenders Alfie Moon is a reasonable cop as DS Grace, I must admit it was a few minutes before I realised it was him...

Mortician and love interest Cleo Morley (Laura Whitmore) is making her professional stage debut in this production.

Brian Bishop (Stephen Billington) the former Coronation Street and Hollyoaks actor who also has numerous other tv credits to his name was the good guy-bad guy whose strong stage presence stole the show.

The two tier set worked well, the upper tier being a working mortuary whilst below was the police station office and interview room.  The action seamlessly taking place between the locations assisted by clever use of lighting.

A murder mystery evening is always enjoyable, this one is no exception.

Not Dead Enough is on at the Hippodrome until Saturday, 4th March.
