Whether your idol be a sporting hero a pop star, boy or girl band youngsters and teenagers have been obsessed with them for decades.
The Band written by Tim Firth against a musical backdrop of Take That songs tells the story of five friends, starry eyed and sixteen years old who are reunited twenty five years later - now fourty something women, who try once more to fulfil their dream of meeting their heroes.
Unlike some musicals based around popular artists this is not a Take That tribute nor is it jukebox - the music of Take That is woven into a moving and emotional story line with plenty of tears and laughter along the way.
The Band made up of five boys were discovered via the tv show Let It Shine whose head judge was Gary Barlow.
All of the boys have fine voices doing a great job recreating the songs which included A Million Love Songs, Back For Good, Greatest Day, Patience and loads more.
Each of the girls shone non more so than Bristol based Alison Fitzjohn who received one of the biggest cheers of the night.
The staging is brilliant, delivered by a technical team that includes specialists who work on Take That's big areana shows.
A thoroughly fab production enjoyed by a full house on Tuesday evening which I have no doubt will have you reminiscing.
Now on at the Bristol Hippodrome until Saturday, 28th April.
