Chart-topping stars 5 Seconds of Summer have pulled out of the Radio 1 Teen Awards this weekend after the band's drummer was taken to hospital with appendicitis.
Ashton Irwin from the Australian quartet went into hospital yesterday and had his appendix removed, which means the band are unable to travel to the UK.
The band - whose hits include She Looks So Perfect - apologised to fans for being unable to attend the event at London's Wembley Arena, now known as SSE Arena.
Other acts on the bill for the event - to be hosted by Nick Grimshaw and Rita Ora - include The Vamps, Ariana Grande, Rixton, Ella Henderson and Labrinth.
A statement from the group said: "We are so sorry to everyone that had planned on seeing us at Wembley, we were so excited to come see you all. We can't wait to get back to the UK soon."
Radio 1 said tonight: "We're really sorry for all the 5SOS fans who were looking forward to seeing the band perform live. Radio 1 wish Ashton a speedy recovery and we look forward to seeing him and his drumming faces back in the UK asap."
