Jennifer Lawrence has announced she is to make her directorial debut.
The Hunger Games star will take the helm on Project Delirium, a film based on a 2012 New Yorker article about mental warfare in the 1960s.
Jen revealed she had signed on in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, which named her entertainer of the year. She said: “It’s funny, I’ve wanted to direct since I was 16 and always thought I should start making steps towards that. If I had tried to do it earlier, I wouldn’t have been ready. Now I actually feel ready.”
The piece the film is based on is called Operation Delirium by Raffi Khatchadorian.
The Oscar winner has also announced that she and Trainwreck star Amy Schumer are co-writing a screenplay, in which the two will play sisters.
Jennifer, 25, also told EW how she she has learned the best way to deal with hangers-on in her rise to fame.
“I speak from personal experience. People start to feel a lot less guilty when you become bigger or have more money. I have a very small circle. The moment I feel like someone is using me or is in it for the wrong reasons, I have zero guilt about just cutting them the f*** out of my life.”
