COMEDIAN Stewart Francis appears to be of the opinion that, if you’re going to go, go laughing.

Especially if you are a comedian set on a final and, it seems, an ever expanding tour.

A spokesman said: “Stewart is holding back the tears as he says goodbye to the good show-goers who have made his job such great fun over the last decade or so. “But as a fully-paid up comedian, who takes his vocation very seriously to boot, through the tears there will be a constant desire to arouse boundless joy in his audience. So expect some tears, yes; but more to the point expect the veritable barrel of laughs that can be expected of a punmaster of Stewart Francis’ calibre.”

And judging from the promo pictures, having a donkey on tow is also important, for those final miles to silence.

However, it is not known whether or not the donkey will actually make it to The Malvern Theatres on October 12.

But Stewart will certainly be there, as he heads “Into the Punset”, as part of his final tour.

Actually, with a nod to the donkey, this final hurrah is turning into a beast of tour, with added dates right to the end of 2019.

A spokesman said: “It will culminate at the Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith in December next year. This will be Stewart’s last and final stand-up gig – ever! – and so we’re expecting a full house and not a dry eye within it. It’s going to be emotional…”

But what can a Malvern audience expert this October?

The spokesman added: “Winner of Dave’s Funniest Joke Of The Fringe, this hugely successful one liner wizard has become a household name in the UK and Ireland over the last decade, thanks to his perfectly crafted gags and expert timing, which he has brought to sell-out audiences across the world.

“Now it’s time to sit back and enjoy, for the last time, his excellent jokes in his farewell tour.”
