WHEN a former Ledbury mayor, who is also a keen Morris Man, threw an 80th birthday celebration at The Talbot, the scene was set for a community spectacle of dance and song.
Cllr Keith Francis, aged 80, and friend Robert Hussey, aged 60, recently enjoyed a joint birthday bash at the half-timbered Elizabethan coaching inn, in New Street, and more than 100 guests were there to wish them well.
Among them were Cllr Francis's Morris "side", the Silurian Border Morrismen, who performed various dances and provided the music, late into the evening, much to the delight of everyone present.
