THE John Masefield High School is urging parents to complete an online questionnaire about travel to and from the school, as part of a Herefordshire Council review.
Herefordshire Council is reviewing its "sustainable modes of travel to school strategy" for the county, which is designed to encourage pupils to travel to and from school using sustainable transport, where possible, including walking and cycling.
The council's vision for the strategy is “to have a fully integrated transport system where every pupil within Herefordshire has the option to travel to and from school through sustainable travel choices, improving health, safety and reducing reliance on short distance car journeys”.
A large number of John Masefield students also rely on school buses because they live several miles away from the school.
A school spokesman said: "As part of the strategy review, which will also refresh their safe routes to school programme, Herefordshire Council are asking parents to complete a short online questionnaire. We would encourage all parents to complete the questionnaire."
This consultation process closes on Monday November 14.
