FANTASTIC scarecrows will be just one of the attractions at the Colwall Village Garden open day on Saturday, July 7.
The garden, which is home to the village orchard and the allotments, will be open from 10am to 3pm, and visitors will be able to follow a trail of discovery to find out about the history of orchards in Colwall, the wildlife to be found in the orchards, and all about the fruit-growing life-cycle.
Activities on offer include finding out about pond life with Herefordshire Amphibian and Reptile Trust, a bug hunt, crafts, a museum of local curiosities and outdoor games and music, all included in the entrance fee.
There will also be a bar, a barbecue, a cafe offering cream teas, and sales of plants, tools, and of jams, juices and balms made by group members.
