A 'DELIGHTFUL and independent' woman died after falling in her garden, an inquest has heard.

Elizabeth Davis, 89, of Bucknell, Shropshire, died at Hereford County Hospital on July 16.

She was found by her neighbour on the morning of July 13 lying on the ground in her garden.

The inquest heard that she may have been lying there since the night before after suffering a fall.

Her doctor described her as a 'delightful' lady.

Mrs Davis fell after a few days of suffering from confusion and some unsteadiness on her feet.

Before this she was in good health and led an independent lifestyle, the inquest heard.

Her son, John Davis, praised the staff at Hereford County Hospital for their treatment of his mother.

Assistant Coroner Roland Wooderson said that Mrs Davis was an 'indepedent' lady who 'lived at home happily'.

He recorded a conclusion of accidental death at the inquest at Herefordshire Coroner's Court.
