BROMYARD'S annual Christmas light extravaganza returns on November 17 with a new surprise.

The town always pulls out the stops with its festive display and 2018 is no exception, thanks to the addition of a real life reindeer to Santa's parade.

Edgar Whiteley, 80, will be the Guest of Honour for the Big Switch On at 5pm, in recognition of his tireless work for the community.

The former Chairman and President of Bromyard Town Football Club is now President of the Club’s junior section.

He is a founder member of the twinning association, a Bromyard Gala committee member, former chairman of Bromyard Youth Club, a school governor, and has served as a sidesman at St Peter’s Church for 50 years, alongside being a trustee of Bromyard Public Hall.

The town's car parks will be free of charge on the day, while carols, stalls, and a Santa parade will also take place.
