THE name of every person from Herefordshire who made the ultimate sacrifice in the First World War has been read out in Hereford Cathedral this week.
Around 500 names were read out each day from Monday November 5 and will conclude tomorrow, by county dignitaries, representatives from the forces and members of the community.
The services were well-attended, with many people paying their respects to relatives who gave their lives for their country in the First World War.
Allan Lewis, the county's only recipient of the Victoria Cross, was one of the hundreds of names read out in the cathedral, as each life lost in the conflict was remembered.
