AN elderly man died in a house fire in Hereford on Saturday.
The fire service was called at 4.40am in the early hours of November 10 to reports of a smell of burning in St Guthlac Street.
When firefighters arrived it was not apparent which house was affected.
They had to use gas monitors and thermal imaging cameras in the area to identify the property.
Once they had established which house it was they discovered an elderly man deceased at the property.
The incident is now with the fire investigation team. The cause of death has not been confirmed and the death has been referred to Herefordshire Coroner's Court.
The source of the fire was electrical.
